Grant is the principal at Grant Shand Barristers & Solicitors and is a litigation lawyer with about 30 years litigation experience.  Grant has particular expertise in insurance law having worked for law firms that acted for insurers in NZ and Australia as well as acting for insured people in NZ for many years.

He has spent the past 10 years primarily acting for home and business owners on earthquake cases and has handled the most earthquake cases of any NZ lawyer.  He has run trials and appeals and attended many settlement conferences and mediations.  He is currently involved in other class actions and was recently involved in the Ross v Southern Response class action protecting the interests of homeowners.

Canterbury Litigation Funding is the newest litigation funder in New Zealand with a focus on funding class actions and cases relating to EQC and insurance companies.  It has access to experienced business and legal staff.
